RE: Blowout XRV's

I thought you said the rears were inflated to 90 PSI. Which is it, 110 or 90? Maybe you need to go thump them again.
Then you speak of GVW for the front axle. I thought that would be GAWR.
Everything I said was based on numbers and information you provided.
You know, folks on here are just trying to help you out but we can't seem to get any sensible information from you. If you want help, we would be glad to do what we can. If you already know everything then why did you ask a question?
And, I'm done here.

RE: Blowout XRV's

You say your front weighs 10410, the chart says your front tire capacity @105 PSI is 10300. That's 110 pounds OVERWEIGHT.
You say your rear weighs 17000, the chart says your rear tire capacity @90 PSI is 16820. That's 180 pounds OVERWEIGHT.
Now, just how is the manufacturer responsible for you being OVERWEIGHT?
Also, a 38 Endeavor carrying 5,000 extra pounds is most likely overweight for the chassis in addition to being overweight for the tires.
Until you actually weigh the coach, as normally loaded, you can only guess.

RE: For Employers - Workamper Package

Darrell,
I think you are right about workampers changing. Many now are retired from mid to high 6 figure jobs, drawing a good pension and have a fat (although getting leaner) 401K. They have worked many years in high pressure jobs to earn the ability to take it easy in their retirement years. Most take workamper positions for the relaxation of staying in one place for a few weeks or months, not for the money. They are willing to work for this ability but are not going to be misused or abused by an employer. They don't have to be and most will just simply move on if they feel they are beng taken advantage of.
Until employers realize that the new workampers don't need the job and start treating them with the proper respect there will continue to be problems and disagreements between workampers and employers. You just can't treat most workampers like high school dropouts who are only worthy of minimum wage simply because they are willing to work for minimum wage. Most actually earn more than their employers.

RE: No room at the Inn!

I've always been able to find a CG in FL for a few nights regardless of the time of year. And it's been my experience that things don't really start filling up until after Christmas.

RE: CC Veranda 400 140 lbs carry weight

I think, if you take re-look at the FMCA article, you will notice that the payload as tested is 3080 pounds, meaning they aready had 3080 pounds of "stuff" in the rig when they weighed it.

You are being overly concerned. Popped windshields are rare and 3" is darned near level in the first place.

RE: 240 volts to the RV?

It's a good thing we aren't talking about connecting a 120/240 volt outlet in a Wal-Mart parking lot. This thread would go on forever if we were. :)

RE: Rear camera observation system

I don't know about your particular camera system, but mine is able to support two cameras even though only one is connected. If I select the #2 input all I get is a white screen. Might be something to check.

RE: 240 volts to the RV?

Trust me or not folks. I've seen many fried appliances due to a dropped neutral. Both in homes and in RVs.
The Texan,
NEC Article 551.77 Paragraph (F)gives the marking requirements.
The notes explain the reason for the marking requirement. "Partially engaged attachment plugs may result in intermittent neutral (grounded conducter) contact. Loss of the neutral could momentarily apply line-to-line voltage (240 volts) across 125-volt equipment, causing malfunction or damage"
If you don't want to take my word for it then maybe you'll take the word of the NEC. If not, it's your rig, do what you want.

You only need whatever class of license is required in your state of residence. You didn't indicate your state of residence so NOBODY can give you an accurate answer.

RE: 240 volts to the RV?

OK, all you folks who think no damage will occur if you get the hots connected before the neutral and ground go out to your coach and give it a try. I think you will soon see smoke.
Lets say you have the front TV between L1 and Neutral. And the rear TV is between L2 and Neutral. If Neutral doesn't make contact (for whatever reason) before L1 and L2 then 240V flows through both TVs from L1 to L2 since TVs are always ON even when turned OFF. And the ultimate result is the release of the smoke contained in all electrical components. Why do you think the NEC requires warning labels on 50 Amp RV service plugs?

RE: Cummins engines ULSD fuel and fuel pumps.

I'm can't see why Cummins would lie about it, if in fact the leaks were due to ULSD. I don't see where they would have any reason not to simply say that was the cause. Why would that be "their standard response"? Do you think there is something they are trying to hide?

RE: 240 volts to the RV?

Just one more little important point about 50A 120/240Volt RVs. It is important to turn OFF the service (on CG post) breaker before connecting the RV plug. If you don't and happen to get the two hots connected before the neutral and ground make contact, you will put 240VAC across anything that is ON in the motorhome. And if you do that, you will let the smoke out.

RE: Power surge problem?

TV and microwave are usually connected to a circuit that is supplied through or by the inverter. You might want to check in that area too. Additionally, TVs and microwaves are actually ON even when OFF since they are in a standby condition so they can be damaged even when you think they are OFF.
Was the 30 to 50 amp adapter you used configured with the regular 30 amp RV configuration? If so the the generator should have been putting out 120 Volts to that configuration. However, there are alternative 30 amp plug configurations that are 240 volts. Your use of the term "30A twistlock" makes me think that may be the case. If you used one of those (30Amp/240 volt) you may getting some new stuff in the motorhome.
If you have an EMS, I think it should shut down the power if a maximum voltage is exceeded but I don't know if it would shut it down fast enough to prevent damage.

Seems a bit low to me. My 36' Knight has a CCC around 3500 (don't remember the exact fgre) and I'm getting close on that. Guess I need to clean out the junk we never use.

RE: running 2 ac's on 30 amp service

Charlie in TX,
Are you sure your generator only has one breaker? I think you might have two breakers that are tied together. If that's the case it's usually a simple matter to remove the tie bar or pin.

RE: Don't Make the Mistake I Did, Read Your Insurance Policy

I had the $50.00 towing on my insurance too and it only cost me $2.50 per year. I still dropped it when I got Coach-Net. Now I can afford an extra quart of diesel. :)
